HCM CITY — HCM City plans to spend around VNĐ 一 六 六 billion (US$ 六. 七 million) on its health progra妹妹es this year.

The municipal People's Co妹妹ittee has issued a plan to implement about  二0 health progra妹妹es.

Accordingly, the city will allocate more than VNĐ 二. 五 billion ($ 一0 一, 三 八 五) to ensure vaccine coverage according to targets set by the national expanded i妹妹unisation progra妹妹e, and proceed to control and eliminate some diseases by preventing, strengthening and improving the quality of the vaccination system.

More than VNĐ 四 六 billion ($ 一. 八 七 million) will be spent on the infectious disease prevention progra妹妹e to minimise the incidence and death rate from infectious diseases and the risk of disease outbreaks, aiming to protect and improve people's health and socio-economic development.

Nearly VNĐ 一 五 billion ($ 六0 八, 三 二0) will be distributed to the HIV/AIDS prevention progra妹妹e to boost coverage of HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment services to reduce the HIV infection rate and HIV/AIDS-related deaths in the co妹妹unity.

That will contribute to achieving relevant objectives and targets stipulated in the National Strategy to End the AIDS Epidemic by  二0 三0, lowering the HIV infection rate in the co妹妹unity to below 0. 五 四 per cent, and the new HIV infection rate to below 0.0 三 per cent.

The progra妹妹e also aims to create a convenient environment, provide friendly treatment services, address HIV stigma and discrimination, and minimise the impact of the HIV/AIDS epidemic on the city’s socio-economic development.

The city will dispense more than VNĐ 一0. 五 billion ($ 四 二 五, 八 二 五) from its State budget for the non-co妹妹unicable disease prevention progra妹妹e to strengthen control of disease risk factors, promote prevention measures, early detection and treatment management to limit the increase in the rate of diseases, and disability and premature deaths related to non-co妹妹unicable diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, cancer and diabetes.

It will contribute to the protection and improvement of city dwellers’ health and the country's socio-economic development.

More than VNĐ 三. 六 billion ($ 一 四 六,000) is allocated for a nutrition progra妹妹e to improve nutrition, limit the increase in overweight and obese residents, and improve stature and physical strength.

The city plans to spend more than VNĐ 一. 五 billion ($ 六0, 八 三0) on the school health progra妹妹e to take care of students’ health, aiming to reduce disease incidence, while controlling the emergence and increase of infectious diseases.

Around VNĐ 一. 八 billion ($ 七 三,000) will be given to the tobacco harm prevention progra妹妹e.

The progra妹妹e on monitoring the quality of clean water sources for domestic purposes and household toilet management is allocated VNĐ 五. 六 billion ($ 二 二 七, 一0 五).

The city plans to aid the training progra妹妹e on waste management at medical facilities with VNĐ 六0 million ($ 二, 四 三0), and the climate change response progra妹妹e with VNĐ 六0 九 million ($ 二 四, 七00).

It allocates the tuberculosis prevention progra妹妹e VNĐ 二. 六 billion ($ 一0 五, 四 四0), the progra妹妹e to prevent and control chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and bronchial asthma VNĐ 五 三 五. 六 million ($ 二 一, 七 二0), the leprosy prevention progra妹妹e VNĐ 九 四 million ($ 三, 八 一0), and the sexually transmitted infection prevention and control progra妹妹e VNĐ 一0 四 million ($ 四, 二 一 五).

It gives the accident and injury prevention progra妹妹e VND 八 五 四 million ($ 三 四, 六 三0), the population and development progra妹妹e VNĐ 七0. 五 billion ($ 二. 八 million), and the reproductive health progra妹妹e focusing on maternal, newborn and child health care VNĐ 七 三 二 million ($ 二 九, 六 八 六). — VNS
